SOUTH FLORIDA CLASSICAL REVIEW

"Anastassia Malliaras’  exquisite high range and multihued soprano were a constant joy as Marie."

American Contemporary Ballet Celebrates Romance and Hollywood Glamour in Tribute to Astaire

CULTURAL WEEKLY | FEBRUARY 2020

"Backed by a first-rate 9-piece band, Anastasia Malliaras served up silky period vocals with classic Cole Porter and Gershwin tunes like “Night and Day” and “They Can’t Take that Away from Me” with style and panache as a prelude to each dance."

Folksongs Reimagined for the New Year

LA OPUS | JANUARY 2020

"Anyone used to beefy, baritonal, backwoodsy performances of this familiar American folksong would have had quite a shock encountering Mr. Jordan’s setting. Underpinned only by hesitant, isolated notes on the guitar, Ms. Malliaras keened the melody so slowly that its shape was initially masked, the focused purity of her voice giving it a softly mournful, musing quality that carried no hint of the usual heroic striving. Only with the second stanza, ringing out thrillingly, did that very clear shape” reveal itself."

FALSTAFF

WEST BAY OPERA | MAY/JUNE 2019

"Anatasia Malliaras is one of the evening’s true joys vocally.  As Nannetta, she time and again takes Verdi’s runs of trickling notes and brings joyous interpretations.  Her soprano so easily glides, then hangs, and then ever-slightly trembles as she sings of her love for Fenton..."

THEATRE EDDYS

"As Alice’s darling daughter Nannetta, Anastasia Malliaras’ sparkling soprano improved from thoroughly delightful early on to excellence in Act 3’s beautifully floated gossamer-edged fairy song."

OPERA CHASER

"The opera’s young lovers get some of the most lyrical music. Dane Suarez’s bright tenor (as Fenton) and Anastasia Malliaras’s silvery soprano (as Nannetta) made the most of it."

SAN FRANCISCO CLASSICAL VOICE

American Contemporary Ballet's "Death and the Maiden"

LA DANCE CHRONICLE

"The lights dim the string Quartet takes their seats.  Soprano, Anastasia Malliares accompanied on piano by Alin Melik-Adamyan, enters quietly center stage and sings with heartbreaking angst what we can only assume is a lament to Death."

"Anastassia Malliaras’ exquisite high range and multihued soprano were a constant joy as Marie."

SOUTH FLORIDA CLASSICAL REVIEW

Malliaras has a big soprano voice with a nice bloom to it; she looked beautiful in Nuria Currasco Dominguez’s picture-perfect late Victorian dress and she handled the brief sex scene with Tesla gamely.
